Cancer Treatment
There are several ways to treat cancer here are a few that are available in America...
Blood donation and transfusion: blood can be donated or transfused to help replace important blood that has been lost.
Lasers: more of a surgical way to go, helps with some types of cancer.
Photo-dynamic: uses photosynthesizing drugs to stop cancer cell manipulation.
Surgery: this is a more common treatment, if cancer seems to be localized to just one place, surgery may be used to remove it, along with near by tissues that may contain a trace of the cancer.
Radiation Therapy: this treatment is also used for localized cancers, radiation therapy destroys cancer cells, it can be used alone or with surgery or chemotherapy. Radiation therapy is given 2 ways: external high-energy rays or by implants plants placed near the tumor inside the body.
Chemotherapy: chemotherapy (Chemo for short) is not used for localized cancers, it's used for spread cancer cells, depending on type and stage, chemo can be used to slow down cancer, stop it from growing, or cure cancer. Chemo is given in cycles, each cycle ends with a rest period.
Chemo can be given in these ways: oral (usually pills), infused into a vein, injected into muscle, or injected under the skin.

Cancer Prevention
Here are some ways cancer can be prevented:
- Don't smoke or use any tobacco: Among the 250 known harmful chemicals in tobacco smoke, at least 69 of them can cause cancer.
- Be careful in the sun: Use sunscreen, try to stay in the shade, the ultraviolet radiation from the sun is the number-one cause of skin cancer, ultraviolet light from tanning beds is just as harmful.
- Get Screened: Precancerous growths can be detected early and removed, stopping the disease from spreading.
- Eat healthy: New research shows that as many as one-third of all cancer deaths are linked to diet and physical activity. Try some dark, leafy greens or brightly colored fruit, for a snack.
- Limit alcohol: Alcohol consumption can increase the risk of mouth, esophagus, pharynx, larynx, liver and breast cancers. If you do drink alcohol, men should try to drink no more than two drinks a day and women should try to drink no more than one a day.
- Eat less red meat and processed meat:Choose fish, poultry, or beans instead of beef, pork or lamb. When you eat meat, choose lean cuts and eat smaller portions.
- Be active: Research has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50%, can be used in the lowering risk of other cancers.Research has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50 percent, and it plays a role in lowering risk of other cancersResearch has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50 percent, and it plays a role in lowering risk of other cancersResearch has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50 percent, and it plays a role in lowering risk of other cancersResearch has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50 percent, and it plays a role in lowering risk of other cancersResearch has shown that physical activity reduces risk of colon cancer by about 50 percent, and it plays a role in lowering risk of other cancers
